Getting set up

In order to automate emails, you need to have a Funnel with at least one button. Go to these articles if you need help creating or publishing Funnels.
Select the button you want to trigger the email on, and press the gear icon or in the sidebar menu press the "Button actions" button.
Both options will open the button actions modal.
Setting the email button action

Once in the Button Actions modal press the "+ Add Action" button to start setting up the automation.

There are several action types available, to set up an email, simply select email and you will see the other options change contextually.
By default the action is set to Send Email, which is what you want for this purpose, other actions options and Conditions are more advanced features that are looked at more in-depth in these articles:

Automating the email

The remaining options to set up the email automations are within the "Edit fields" button. Pressing this button will open another modal with all the necessary email options.

In this modal you have the following options:
- Email Template - Select the email template you want to send when customers press this button
- Sender - Select the Staff User that is associated with the sent email, this is for internal use in the application and will be displayed in reports and logs.
- Reply to - Enter a reply to email for customers to reach you at. This will be displayed in the email footer if toggled on in the email template
- From - Display who the email is from if different than the Sender.
- To - Enter recipient email, this could be a static email to receive lead information about the customer, or an email variable {{ email_address }} to send to the email that users input.
- CC - Enter emails that will also receive the email.
- BCC - Enter emails that will also receive the email but other recipients will not know about.
- Time Delay - Set a delay on when the email is sent, this is useful for retargeting or hitting ideal windows for reaching the prospective customer.
When done, simply close the modals and don't forget to save the Funnel. Now any time a user presses that button while going through the Funnel that email will be automatically triggered according to your specifications.
