How to use the Input Element

The input element allows you to put nearly any type of input on your funnel, and fully customized. In this article we will take a look at the settings available for all inputs and a quick look at each of the types available.

Input settings

Each input has settings that are unique to it as well as settings that are shared across all input types, heres a look at the options that are available.

  • Input type - Select the type of input you want in your funnel step, this option will change what other settings are available.
  • Input ID - This field is set by default and is not editable, but it is available for reference and to be copied.
  • Form name - name the form the input is attached to, this ID will be used to pull the information from the field and used in button actions.
  • Width - Set the width and a minimum and maximum width of the input to control how it is displayed.
  • Label Settings - If an element has a label(s) this section will be present with options for font, size, color, and more.
  • Field Value - Any input has options for the Field Value, such as placeholder, value limits, increment settings and more.
  • Field Options - Input Elements also have Field options where settings such as background color, border settings, and focus states are compiled
  • Block Options - Every Element has a section for Block Options, where you can set Element alignment, Padding, and Break point visibility for mobile or desktop.

Input types

There are 13 different input types that allow you to collect nearly any imaginable data from customers. Here's a quick breakdown of all the available types:

  • Text - Useful for collecting names, addresses, and any short form text content.
  • Number - A simple number input, useful for an numbers though for data about quantity (such as number of attendees), user engagement is higher with more advanced number inputs, namely the Number Picker.
  • Checkbox - Get users to opt in/out of a single point.
  • Date - Collect a single date.
  • Date range - Collect a start and end date.
  • Paragraph - For longer form text input.
  • Toggle/ Radio - Create a list of buttons where the user can only select one option
  • Dropdown list - Create a list of options inside a dropdown where the user can select only one
  • Multiple choice dropdown - Create a list of options inside a dropdown where the user can select as many as you specify.
  • Email - A text input that only accepts and validates email addresses
  • Number slider - A customizable slider to collect a number value.
  • Number picker - A number input accompanied but customizable increment buttons
  • Multiple Choice buttons - Create a list of buttons, available in several styles, where the user can select multiple.
